Axion Lab is an AI-native sustainability services firm turning high-end expert work for alternative asset managers from one-off consulting projects into a continuously available, software-native experience.
Our platform combines AI with expert judgement in a tightly integrated process. AI handles the more deterministic parts of the work: data extraction, analysis, modelling, benchmarking and calculations, while sustainability experts focus on the judgement-heavy and inherently non-deterministic parts: selecting assumptions and methodologies, interpreting edge cases, challenging conclusions, and validating final outputs.
From an engineering perspective, this means much more than wrapping an LLM: multi-step agent workflows, evals, quality gates, structured data and observability, built and iterated closely with clients and experts. Every engagement should make the system (and the knowledge embedded in it) better for the next one.
We are early enough that the architecture, workflows and interaction model are still being invented, but far enough along to be building against real users (managing directors and partners of funds), real portfolio companies and private-market use cases. Our work already spans value creation, due diligence, decarbonisation, financing and sustainability reporting for portfolio companies across Europe and beyond.

As our first full-time engineer, you will be the technical owner of Axion Lab.
You’ll define and evolve the architecture, infrastructure, testing, observability, security, CI/CD and engineering standards behind both our client-facing platform and the internal AI systems used to deliver live client work.
A major part of the role is turning experimental AI workflows into reliable production systems: agent orchestration, evals, quality gates, structured data, traceability, expert review flows and operational reliability.
You will also work closely with founders, sustainability experts and clients to understand real workflows, identify what should be automated or redesigned, and turn those insights into product.
The principle behind the product is simple: internal complexity should translate into a radically simpler client experience.
